KLM encourages these initiatives on condition that they are in line with our broader competencies and with the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.
KLM has developed Volunteer Plaza. Divisions, departments, and individual employees can recommend initiatives and share experiences on this company-wide platform. One of the ways KLM expresses its appreciation of such initiatives is by annually awarding a prize to one of these programs or projects.

- KLM Europe is supporting an orphanage in Brazil;
- KLM the Netherlands collects money for worthy causes during the Dam-to-Dam Run;
- Our cargo division offers free carriage of books and learning materials destined for underprivileged children around the world.
- For years KLM Catering Services supplies the Dutch Food Bank regularly with food stuffs.
The Paramaribo office donates 250 euro each month to the children’s home Leliëndaal.
