France – Industrial action

AIR FRANCE ground staff announced an industrial strike for all French stations on 02 August. We therefore offer a rebook option for flights on Saturday 02 August 2014 from/via all French stations. Eligibility only for customers with an original ticket issue date on or before 01 August 2014.

You can log in to My Trip to view your flight detail, or to change your travel dates yourself if:

  • you have a KLM or AF ticket
  • your outbound or inbound journey has not started yet
  • you are not travelling with an infant
  • you do not have a special request (eg. special meal, unaccompanied minor, wheelchair, animal/pet)

1. Change of travel dates
The following conditions apply:

  • You may change 1 outbound journey and 1 inbound journey on KLM, AIR FRANCE and/or Delta Air Lines flights free of charge.
  • If your journey is from/via a French station, on Saturday, 02 August 2014, your new departure date should be no later than Friday, 08 August 2014, the original duration of stay remains unchanged.
  • Penalties and change fees do not apply.
  • Re-booking is possible only if seats are available in the same cabin class as stated in the original ticket.
  • If your journey is from/via a French station, rebooking must be done at the latest on Friday, 08 August 2014.


2. Change of destination
You may use the full value of your original tickets to buy new tickets of the same or a higher KLM, AIR FRANCE and/or Delta Air Lines fare.

  • If your journey is from/via a French station your new departure date should be no later than Friday 08 August 2014. The original duration of stay remains unchanged
  • Penalties and change fees do not apply
  • If your journey is from/via a French station, re-issuing must be done at the latest on Friday, 08 August 2014.


3. Refunds
You are entitled to a full refund of your ticket if:

  • Your flight is on Saturday, 02 August 2014 from/via any French station and was cancelled by KLM, AIR FRANCE and/or Delta Air Lines, or your flight was delayed for more than 3 hours and you did not travel.


If you bought your ticket via KLM.com, a KLM ticket office or KLM Telephone Reservations, and your ticket number starts with 074, you can apply for a refund by filling out our online refund form. This will avoid long waiting times at our sales and service centres. If you booked via a travel agent, you should contact them directly.

Re-book policy due to situation Ukraine

If you are travelling to, from or via any destination in the Ukraine (UA) between Friday, 18 July 2014 up to and including Friday, 8 August 2014, you may either rebook your flight or apply for a refund. Valid only for customers with a ticket originally issued on or before Friday, 18 July 2014.

Israel - Political unrest

KLM is closely monitoring the situation in Tel Aviv. Due to the unclear situation KLM, AIR FRANCE and Delta Air Lines have cancelled some flights to Tel Aviv. Therefore, we offer the following re-book options for customers travelling to/from Tel Aviv from Wednesday, 09 July 2014 up to and including Friday, 15 August 2014.

USA and Canada - Electronic devices in handbaggage

From Tuesday 8 July, passengers taking direct flights to the United States and from Tuesday 15 July, passengers taking direct flights to Canada will be subject to an additional screening of electronic devices in their hand baggage. Any such devices have to be taken out of their protective sleeves and must be battery powered and functioning during your boarding. Electronic devices that have been screened may be taken on board. This measure only applies to hand baggage.


The measure applies to all battery-operated electronics, including telephones, laptops, tablets, cameras, e-readers, handheld game consoles and MP3 players. If the device cannot be taken out of its protective sleeve and/or switched on, it will not be permitted on board the aircraft.

These additional checks will be performed at the gate prior to boarding and apply exclusively to the flights to the United States and Canada. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol will take all possible steps to avoid additional queuing time.

Manila - Ninoy Aquino Intl Airport (MNL), Philippines - Terminal change

From the 4th of August, 2014. KLM will be departing and arriving through Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, Pasay City. The terminal is located across Resorts World Manila.

Linkoping - runway repairs

Please note that due to runway repairs, flights to and from Linkoping City Airport (LPI) are temporarily diverted via Norrköping Airport (NRK) for the period of July 6th (first flight to NRK is KL1183 on this date) until Monday, 18 August 2014 (final flight from NRK is KL1178 on this date). Arriving passengers will (voluntarily) be transported by bus to Linköping. For departing passengers check-in is possible at both airports. Passengers checking-in at Linköping will be transported by bus to Norrköping. Please note that check-in at Linköping City Airport closes 65 minutes before departure.

United Kingdom - Possible closure of Manston Airport in Kent

Due to the possible closure of Manston (Kent) Airport, leading to the suspension of KLM flights, the following voluntary re-book options may be offered to customers with tickets to/from Manston (MSE) from Thursday, 27 March 2014 up to and including Saturday, 28 Feburay 2015.
