Upgrade on day of departure

Flying Blue now offers increased award mileage upgrade options on KLM operated flights from Ethiopia! All you need to do is request for a mileage upgrade at our check-in counter at the airport. Based on seat availability, you will be upgraded to World Business Class for an award mileage deduction of 35,000 miles.

Eligibility

To qualify for the award mileage upgrade, you must have a minimum balance of 35,000 award miles in your Flying Blue account and your ticket must be booked in S, Y or B class of travel. 

Customers who are not booked in the eligible class may “buy up” to B class in order to qualify for a mileage upgrade by paying a standard fee on the ticketed booking class as below.  

Example:- Customers booked in M class may “buy up” to B class by paying Eur100 and then upgraded to World Business Class by deducting 35,000 award miles.

 

What’s more, this benefit can be redeemed by the Flying Blue member when traveling and any accompanying customers of the member.
