5 October 2009 | Apart from the usual baggage drop-off points, you can now check in your check-in baggage yourself at the self-service baggage drop-off points in Departure Hall 2.
Quickly & easily …

Two new self-service baggage drop-off points were recently installed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. From September 2009 onwards, four of these futuristic machines will be in operation in the Economy area and one in the Premium area. These improvements to the check-in procedures mean that you no longer have to queue up at the check-in counter. You simply check in your check-in baggage and you can proceed straight to the gate.
… and improved
Compared to the first model, the new machines offer more services. You can now check in one or two pieces of baggage. You can also use them even if you have to transfer flights. A further improvement is that the application of the adhesive baggage label has been simplified.
Easy to use
The process is simple. You start by scanning your boarding pass. Your details are displayed for you to check. After confirming your details, the baggage label is printed, which you should then attach to your baggage. The baggage can now be put into the machine. Our colleagues will check your identity and travel documents. And of course they will give you any help that you may need.
