    Transferring at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

    Schiphol Airport

If you are travelling to/from Schengen countries, you should count on having to go through security checks and customs inspections. These can substantially extend the time it takes to complete your transfer procedure. Your hold baggage is automatically labelled through to your final destination. For more information, you can speak with personnel at one of the Transfer Desks in the terminal. When you have extra time at Schiphol, be sure to visit the See Buy Fly shopping centre and the Airport Casino – great opportunities to enjoy your time. You could also visit the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Airport Schiphol where ten works created by Dutch masters from the Dutch Golden Age are on permanent display.

    Self-service transfer kiosks

The first self-service transfer kiosks were introduced in cooperation with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Today, these kiosks are available for passengers who arrive at the E and D piers. During the course of 2008, these kiosks will be placed at more locations so that there will later be around 100 kiosks available. To use one, all you do is scan your boarding pass. You then receive an automatic update of your boarding time, departure time and your departure gate. If you want, you can also change your seat assignment for your next flight and even check in. In the unlikely event that you have missed your flight, you will be offered an alternative flight for which you can print out your new boarding pass. If you are entitled to a coupon for a beverage, meal or the use of a telephone, the kiosk will automatically present you with your coupon. In some cases, you will also be entitled to a Travel Discount Certificate.
