Introducing “Positive Boarding”

As of 15th October 2013, KLM will begin using Heathrow Airport's Positive Boarding technology in order to improve the passenger experience and departing flight punctuality.

At departure point, you will  have to scan the barcode on your boarding pass at an automatic gate (at least 30 minutes before departure for economy class and 20 minutes for Business class). The system will verify the ticket and will open to allow you through to security.

If you are trying to go through with too little time before the flight is due to depart, you will be asked to return to check in and seek assistance.
