Terms and conditions for Economy Comfort seats
1. Economy Comfort seats
1.1 KLM and Delta Air Lines flights provide Economy Comfort seats in the Economy Comfort zone located in the Economy Class cabin, except on KLM flights between Amsterdam and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Reserving one of these seats, if available, involves an additional charge.
1.2 Flying Blue Platinum members and SkyMiles Platinum and Diamond members can reserve an Economy Comfort seat for free, while Flying Blue Gold and Silver members, SkyMiles Gold and Silver members and SkyTeam Elite Plus members and SkyTeam Elite members(on Delta Air Lines flights only) can reserve an Economy Comfort seat at a discount when logged on as Flying Blue, SkyMiles or SkyTeam member and identified as such by KLM. In all other cases, Flying Blue, SkyMiles or SkyTeam members may reserve such an Economy Comfort seat at the regular rate.
1.3 We shall make reasonable efforts to meet your seat allocation request for an Economy Comfort seat. However, we reserve the right to assign or reassign an Economy Comfort seat at any time, even after boarding of the aircraft, for operational, safety or security reasons. The final decision resides with the ground staff and the operating crew on the day of the flight.
2. Requirements and qualifications
2.1 In order to utilize an Economy Comfort seat, you represent and warrant that you possess the legal authority to enter into this agreement and subsequently to be bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement; and
2.2 You further represent that all information supplied by you in order to request a certain seat is accurate and that you will not make any speculative, false or fraudulent reservation. You further represent that you will only make reservations for yourself or for another person on whose behalf you are entitled to act and which person also complies with the requirements set out in paragraph 2.1.
3.1 In the event of an Economy Comfort seat is not provided to you, you are entitled to a refund representing the amount paid for the Economy Comfort seat, for that specific part of the journey, only if:
(I) you were rebooked to another flight:
• upon your request, and you have purchased an Economy Comfort seat on the new flight;
• by KLM, for operational reasons or because we cancelled your flight;
• because you missed your connecting flight after an inbound flight on KLM, Delta Air Lines or any other SkyTeam airline and you were not provided with an Economy Comfort seat on the alternative flight;
(II) we changed the aircraft type and there were no Economy Comfort seats available on the alternative aircraft;
(III) we used our right to assign or reassign your Economy Comfort seat either before or after boarding for operational, safety or security reasons.
3.2 You can request a refund by filling in a refund form.
3.3 No refund will be made if you do not meet the above-mentioned criteria.
With this service, we offer you an Economy Comfort seat in Economy Class when and if available. Besides the extra legroom and more recline, the product in the Economy Comfort zone is identical to the standard Economy Class. Catering for example is standard Economy Class catering.
