      Back to Prepare for travel
Would you like a window seat or some extra in-flight comfort? If so, select your seat at ‘Manage my Booking’, during online check-in, or at a self-service machine at the airport.

      Selecting your seat

During the booking process, you can indicate where you would prefer to sit. Next to a window or rather on an aisle? We can’t always guarantee your choice, but we’ll do our very best – whether you’ve reserved online, by phone or through a travel agent.

      From 90 days before departure
Once you have booked, you can log in at ‘Manage my Booking’. There you can indicate or change your seat preference, as early as 90 days up until 48 hours before departure. This is possible for intercontinental flights operated by KLM and many other airlines.

Would you like some extra comfort? You can reserve a seat in the Economy Comfort zone, a seat with extra legroom or a seat in a row of 2.

For some KLM flights, Meet & Seat lets you find out about interesting people who will be travelling on your KLM flight – and where they will be sitting on board. Read more about Meet & Seat.

You can also view or change your seat, or reserve an extra comfortable one during online check-in, or at a self-service machine at the airport.

      Seating arrangement for the aircraft

When you indicate your preference for a seat, not all the seats aboard the aircraft will be available. Some might already have been reserved by other passengers. We also reserve a number of seats for passengers with special needs such as parents with babies or physically challenged passengers.

If you log in as a Flying Blue Elite or Elite Plus member, you have a wider choice of seats.
