Procedure to follow for baggage missing for at least five days

When your baggage has not been located within five days, you should complete the Baggage Questionnaire and Inventory Form. With this detailed information, we can launch a worldwide search to trace your baggage.
Go to the Baggage Questionnaire and Inventory Form.

Your claim

We will need to receive the completed form from you within 21 days after your arrival. Submitting inaccurate or incomplete declarations or not meeting the deadline of 21 days can result in your claim being rejected. We advise you to keep copies of all relevant documents, labels and tickets until your baggage has been found or until your claim has been settled.

Liability

The contract conditions on your ticket state the airline’s limited liability. The amounts listed are not paid automatically but refer to the maximum amount that can be paid. A proof of loss has to be submitted for every claim. Airlines are never liable for the loss of currency, jewellery, silverware, samples, business documents, electronic equipment or other valuable items. This also applies to breakable and perishable items.

Insurance

If your baggage is insured for loss, it would be more to your advantage to submit a claim to your insurance company or credit card company instead of to the airline. Most insurance policies cover loss as based on the value of your property and not on the basis of weight, as is customary in the airline industry.
