Civil Aviation Authority's new regulations
In order to enhance flight safety, effective form 1 March 2007, liquids, gels and aerosols in hand baggage of passengers of all types of intercontinental flights which depart, connect or transit in Taiwan, will undergo new security screening.
- Passengers are only allowed to carry liquids, gels and aerosols in containers with a volume of 100 ml or less which have to be carried in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag.
- Each passenger may only carry one such transparent plastic bag, the plastic bag will be inspected when passing through the security control.
- Baby formula, medication, and necessary liquids, gels and aerosols for medical use such as diabetics, that is required during the journey, can be claimed for exemption at the security control.
- Passengers (whether departing or transiting) who have purchased items in the restricted area or during the former journey on flight must put their purchased items in a plastic bag with seals with valid purchase records.
- For effective x-ray inspection, the above mentioned plastics bag should present separately from other baggage, coat or lap-top at the security control.
To ensure a smooth journey and avoid delay due to traffic at the security control, please approach the airport 3 hours before departure for the check-in process, and carry simple hand baggage
