Seat in the Economy Comfort zone
Get comfortable on intercontinental KLM or Delta Air Lines flights! Economy Comfort seats offer:
- Up to 89 cm (35 inch) legroom
- Up to double the recline
- Location in the front of the Economy Class cabin, so upon arrival you’ll be among the first to be on your way.
The service in the Economy Comfort zone is the same as in Economy Class.
Arrange it yourself at KLM.com
Reserve your Economy Comfort seat from EUR 60 to 150 per one way, depending on the duration of the flight:
- For intercontinental KLM flights, you can reserve from 90 days before departure:
- When booking your flight
- Via Manage my Booking: Log in and arrange it now
- When checking in online at KLM.com or at a self-service machine at the airport - depending on the check-in services at your departure airport.
- For intercontinental Delta Air Lines flights, you can reserve when checking in: online at KLM.com or at a self-service machine at the airport.
You can also ask about the availability of seats in the Economy Comfort zone when boarding your flight.
Flying Blue Platinum members or travellers on a fully flexible Economy ticket can also reserve their Economy Comfort seat via a travel agent.
You can always pay by credit card, and in many countries we offer other payment options as well.
Frequent flyer discounts
If you are a Flying Blue Platinum member, SkyMiles Platinum or Diamond member or if you travel on a fully flexible Economy Class ticket, your seat in the Economy Comfort zone on board KLM and Delta Air Lines flights is free of charge.
Flying Blue Gold members or SkyMiles members, and SkyTeam Elite Plus members of our partner airlines receive a 50% discount. Flying Blue Silver members and SkyMiles members pay 25% less for their Economy Comfort seat on board a KLM or Delta Air Lines flight.
SkyTeam Elite members also receive a 25% discount on Economy Comfort seats on Delta Air Lines flights.
Seat with extra legroom
A bit more legroom goes a long way! Depending on the aircraft type, our seats with extra legroom offer:
- On European KLM flights, up to 97 cm (38 inch) of legroom
- On intercontinental KLM flights, at least 140 cm (55 inch) of legroom
The number of seats with extra legroom is limited, so get one while they are available.
You can buy a seat with extra legroom for EUR 20 to 70 per KLM flight from 90 days before departure:
- When booking your intercontinental KLM flight
- via Manage my Booking: Log in and arrange it now for intercontinental KLM flights
- When you check in online at KLM.com or via our self-service machines at the airport – depending on the check-in services at your departure airport.

Seat in a row of 2
On most intercontinental KLM flights, we offer seats with a specific advantage: you can sit together in one row. These seats in a row of just 2 can be bought separately. The number of seats in a row of 2 is limited, so get one while they are available. Please note that some of these seats can not fully recline.
You can reserve a seat in a row of 2 for EUR 30 per flight from 90 days before departure:
- When booking your flight
- Via Manage my Booking: Log in and arrange it now
- When you check in online at KLM.com or via our self-service machines at the airport – depending on the check-in services at your departure airport.
You can always pay by credit card, and in many countries we offer other payment options as well.

Changing your seat and refunds
Log on to Manage my Booking to:
- Change your extra comfortable seat to a seat of the same type on the same flight – free of charge
- Change your extra comfortable seat to another type on the same flight (for example, changing a seat with extra legroom to a seat in the Economy Comfort zone) – at an additional charge.
If you have reserved an extra comfortable seat and you change your flight times or dates, you need to reserve an extra comfortable seat again on the new flight. You may then apply for a refund of the costs of the extra comfortable seat on the original flight.
Refund
We will do our utmost to assign the seat you have chosen, whether you reserved a seat in the Economy Comfort zone, a seat with extra legroom, a seat in a row of 2, or a regular Economy Class seat. Due to unforeseen circumstances we could decide to reallocate your seat. If this happens, we are very sorry and apologize for the inconvenience. You may be entitled to a refund, which you can easily apply for online.
