Save time by using our convenient self-service check-in machines
We offer three options at the airport to meet every traveler’s needs.
Self-service machines
Avoid the crowds and try our easy-to-use check-in machines. Just insert your frequent flyer card, passport or credit card and within seconds you will be on your way to the gate with your boarding pass and the seat of your choice. Baggage drop-off points are conveniently located nearby for your checked baggage. At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, self-service check-in is available all day long. At other airports, check-in machines are available two hours before scheduled departure (and in many cases earlier). At Schiphol, check-in row 10 and 11 features self-service machines and baggage drop-off points exclusively for passengers traveling in KLM World Business Class or KLM Europe Select as well as Flying Blue Platinum, Gold and Silver cardholders. SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members may also use this priority row. Check-in machines are currently available at: Amsterdam, Athens, Copenhagen, London Heathrow, Manchester, Oslo, Vancouver, Vienna and all US destinations.
Full-service counters
Of course, KLM agents are standing by as always at our check-in desks to offer any personalized assistance you may require. Check-in for your flight opens two hours before scheduled departure. At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, check-in opens at 6:00am for all flights that day.
Lounge check-in
You can also check in comfortably and quietly in our KLM Crown-lounges at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Houston and Toronto. You can also check in at all Northwest WorldClub lounges and in the Air France lounge in Terminal 2D at Paris Charles de Gaulle. Click here for details of our lounge access policy.
Murtala Mohammed International Airport - Lagos
Please be informed about ensuring on time departure of KL 588 to Amsterdam during winter season 2009/2010:
• KLM will open the check-in counters at 5.00PM and close the check-in counters at 09.30PM!
• Only passengers who have completed the security check will be attended to after 9.30PM!
• No new passengers will be allowed for security check after that time
• After check-in, please proceed directly to gate D34
• Immigration and security procedures can take a long time! Be aware!
• Pre-boarding procedure will start at 09.30PM
• Be at the gate before 10:35PM
• KLM will offload passengers who fail to board 20 minutes prior to departure. At 10.35PM we will have to offload passengers and their baggage when they fail to be on time at the gate
• Passengers who are checked in but who fail to report at the boarding gate on time are subject to the restrictions of the ticket and additional penalties
• Tourist class: 1 piece of hand luggage of max. 12KG will be allowed
• Make sure that there are no prohibited items loaded in the baggage.
• KLM is not responsible for valuable items such as laptop computer, money, etc. stored in hand baggage KLM

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport - Abuja
Check-in takes place via the service counters. Check-in commence at 4.00pm and closes at 8.15pm.
Please be informed about ensuring the on time departure of KL 577 to Amsterdam during winter season 2009/10:
Only passengers on the queue within the restricted departure areas will be accepted after 8.15pm. All other passengers who arrive late will not be allowed into the Departure area. Late passengers will receive a letter informing them of the next line of action.
Only passengers who have completed the security check will be accepted after 8.15pm
After check-in proceed to the gate-you will be informed of your gate number during Check-in
Pre-boarding will start at 7.30pm
Boarding closes at 9.25pm
Door of aircraft will be closed at 9.40pm
KLM will offload passengers who fail to board 20mins prior to departure so at 9.25pm we will offload passengers and their baggage when they fail to be on time at the gate.
Passengers that are checked in but who fail to report at the boarding gate on time are subject to the restrictions of the ticket.
Passengers that miss the flight will have to pay besides a date change fee also an additional fee of USD300
One piece of hand luggage of max. 12kg will be allowed.
Make sure that there are no prohibited items loaded in the baggage.
KLM is not responsible for valuable items such as Laptop Computers,DVD,Cameras,Cellphones etc. and money stored in hand baggage.
