Flexible flights

KLM’s higher Take Off rates have recently become more flexible: It is now possible to change your outgoing and return flight dates at a fixed cost of 50 euros for European flights and 100 euros for intercontinental flights. The lowest priced Take Off fares cannot be changed.

Meanwhile, you can now fly KLM to a number of European destinations at low costs without having a minimum stay. This new offer currently applies to London Heathrow and City, Vienna, Copenhagen and Bristol, and the number of destinations will be increased in the near future.

More choice during the winter season

KLM’s new winter schedule provides travellers with more options. The number of flights to the Gulf region, North America, China, India and South America has increased. The winter schedule for 2007/2008 started at the end of October.

More flights to the Middle East
This winter, KLM has increased the frequency of flights to Dubai, Doha and Dammam. Passengers to these major business destinations will be flying in the very latest aircraft: To Dubai in a Boeing 777-200, to Doha and Dammam in an Airbus 330-200. Starting December 3, travellers will be able to fly to the business location of Muscat (Oman) no less than five times a week.

More flights to USA and Canada
A wider choice of flights to Toronto, Atlanta and San Francisco is now available. Our partner Northwest Airlines also operates additional flights to Detroit and Minneapolis in cooperation with KLM.

Upcoming markets
KLM and Air France will be offering a greater choice of flights to popular business destinations in China, India and South America. These include Shanghai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Lima.

New destinations summer 2008

Coming summer, we will be flying non-stop to five new destinations: Nantes, Panama City, Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas), Portland (Oregon) and the Swedish university city of Linköping.

All these cities have much to offer business travellers. Panama has the fastest growing economy of Latin America and both Dallas-Fort Worth and Portland are enjoying financial growth. Nantes, an Air France destination, and Linköping are excellent business locations in Europe. The flights to the USA will be operated in cooperation with KLM Northwest Airlines.

Credit card surcharge

For technical reasons, the credit card surcharge of € 7.50 for the lower booking classes will be introduced later than previously announced. It will now be introduced on 1 April 2008 instead of 1 January. For more information, please contact your account manager.

Culinary delights

Intercontinental Economy Class travellers can expect a whole new breakfast experience. Travellers to Korea will also enjoy a new culinary service.

A new and even tastier breakfast: On flights longer than eight hours, you will be served ‘Morning tapas’, a variety of warm and cold snacks – both heavy and light. On flights shorter than eight hours, we will be serving a ‘Zeitgeber’: A small breakfast intended to help your body clock adjust and provide hydration.

All flights to Korea now feature authentic Korean dishes, cooked to recipes from the renowned Yongsusan chain.

SkyTeam is growing

China Southern Airlines, China’s largest airline, joined SkyTeam as a full member on November 15. SkyTeam also welcomed three new Associate Airlines: Kenya Airways, Air Europa (Mallorca) and Copa Airlines (Panama).

With the joining of China Southern Airlines, the SkyTeam will carry around 428 million passengers on 16,400 daily flights to 841 destinations in 162 countries.

The three new Associate Airlines, Kenya Airways, Air Europa (Mallorca) and Copa Airlines (Panama) will add 47 destinations and almost 500 more daily flights to the SkyTeam network.

The joining of Copa Airlines offers many benefits for business travellers heading to Central and South America. Its extensive network includes excellent connections with the flights to Panama, which KLM will start in the summer of 2008. Flying Blue members will enjoy all the usual benefits of Flying Blue with the new SkyTeam Associate Airlines.

Paperless freight

Flying with an en e-ticket saves paper. The same principle has now also been implemented for freight.

KLM will be processing air freight digitally from now on as computers take the place of traditional freight papers. This transition will enhance KLM’s efficiency and fits in well with the strategy to reduce CO² emissions worldwide.
