Q & A
All-inclusive fares
On this page:
Q: What does the KLM all-in price comprise?
A: The all-in price includes all unavoidable costs related to a flight ticket. These are expenses that customers cannot influence themselves, such as airport taxes and fuel surcharges.
Customers do have a choice of options with certain costs. The following applies:
- The amount of reservation fees can differ based on the point of sale, klm.pl being the lowest.
Note: A local departure tax is levied in a few countries such as the Dutch Antilles, Vietnam and the Philippines. The local authorities have decided that this tax must be paid in the country itself, and not be included in the ticket price. These taxes are therefore not included in the all-in price quoted.
Q: The price I saw in an advert differs from the fare quoted on the website. How is this possible?
A: Airport taxes are calculated in US dollars. Fluctuations in exchange rates mean that small differences can appear between the price published in an advert and the final price charged on the website.
Q: KLM prices published in adverts by travel agents are sometimes different from those quoted in KLM adverts. How is this possible?
A: KLM has chosen to start quoting all-in prices already. Travel agents have been asked to advertise KLM flights with all-in prices, however, some will continue to quote fares excluding taxes and surcharges. When in doubt, remember that it is the price quoted on klm.com that applies.
