Conditions applying to pre-purchased extra baggage at KLM.com

1. Pre-purchased extra baggage 

1.1 During online check-in, KLM offers you the possibility to arrange to take extra baggage at additional cost. This is known as ‘pre-purchased extra baggage’. More information about the free baggage allowance is available on www.klm.com

2. Conditions applying to pre-purchased extra baggage 

2.1 Any pre-purchased extra baggage must be used in combination with the ticket you have bought during Internet check-in. The pre-purchased extra baggage is personal and not transferable.

2.2 Pre-purchased extra baggage can be used for flying in one direction (either an outgoing or a return flight) to the location of the stopover or final destination, and only on flights operated by KLM.

2.3 The pre-purchased extra baggage is not valid for the carriage of animals and sport equipment.

2.4 The General conditions of carriage of KLM are integral part of these terms and conditions.

2.5 You will also have to vouch for the completeness of all information you provided during the reservation procedure and the pre-purchase of extra baggage.

3. Refund and change of flight

3.1 You are entitled to a refund representing the cost of the pre-purchased extra baggage, if:

(I) your ticket pertaining to your pre-purchased extra baggage is refundable, provided you have used such right; or

(II) your flight is not operated by KLM; or

(III) Your baggage for which you’ve bought the pre-purchased extra baggage, is lost and not found within a reasonable timeframe.

3.2 If you decide to carry less baggage than you are allowed subject to your free baggage allowance applicable to your ticket including your pre-purchased extra baggage, you are not entitled to a refund.

3.3 If the fare conditions applying to your ticket allow you to make a change in your flight, the extra baggage you purchased in advance will still apply to your changed ticket.

3.4 Subject to the rules of ticket pertaining to your pre-purchased extra baggage, you may change your flight or the date of your flight at no extra charge, provided the baggage rules of your new flight are the same.
