Economy Comfort
As of December 2009, you can opt for an Economy Class seat with extra comfort on intercontinental flights. Read more about this Economy Comfort zone.
Selecting your seat
During the booking process, you can indicate where you would prefer to sit. Next to a window or rather on an aisle? We’ll do our best to assign you this seat, whether you make your reservation online, by telephone or with a travel agent.
After you have booked, you can log in at Manage my Booking where you can select the seat you want as early as 90 days before departure. You can also view or change your seat during check-in, at the website or at a self-service check-in machine at the airport.

Seating arrangement for the aircraft
When you select your seat, not all the seats aboard the aircraft will be available.
Some might already have been reserved by other passengers. We also reserve a number of seats for passengers with special needs such as parents with babies or physically challenged passengers.
If you log in as a Flying Blue Elite or Elite Plus member, you have a wider choice of seats.

Extra legroom
Stretch your legs and enjoy extra room! By paying a surcharge, you can reserve a seat with extra legroom. Or select a seat in a row with just two seats. You can make these arrangements when you check in online or at a self-service check-in or transfer machine at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Simply pay with your credit card. As a WorldPerks or Flying Blue Gold or Platinum member, you pay nothing extra for a preferred seat!

Upgrading to World Business Class
Like to enjoy extra comfort, access to our lounges, a sleeper seat for utter relaxation, a delightful three-course menu and more? If there are still seats available in our World Business Class before departure, we might offer you the possibility to purchase an upgrade during online check-in.
You can upgrade your seat, depending on availability, at the ticket office or in our KLM Crown Lounges at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. You can even ask about an upgrade after boarding.
At the ticket office, you can use any means of payment, including Flying Blue Miles. In the lounges, you can pay only with Miles. Once on board, you can purchase an upgrade with your credit card or by paying cash.
