The historic center of Krakow

Historic city full of beautiful stories

Looking for an affordable city trip in Eastern Europe? Book flights to Krakow and enjoy a vibrant university town packed with historic architecture. The city on the Vistula River boasts a lively nightlife scene where you can enjoy a mug of traditional Polish beer. Be captivated by the legends of heroes and dragons and admire the centuries-old buildings that survived the Second World War.

View from the royal hill

The Main Market, or Rynel Glowny, the lively heart of Krakow, lies at the foot of the Wawel hill. Admire the impressive and historic St Mary’s Basilica; a lone trumpet call rings out to mark each hour. Peruse the Cloth Hall full of market stands that sell authentic souvenirs such as wool sweaters or beautiful jewellery. Climb the hill for a great view of the city. Did you know that this is where members of the royal family were crowned and buried? Add a royal touch to your day with a visit to the hilltop castle and cathedral. Expect to be surprised: book a flight to Krakow now!

Reflection in Auschwitz

Visit the former Jewish quarter of Krakow: Kazimierz. Prior to the Second World War, this neighbourhood was home to one of the largest Jewish communities in Poland. The film Schindler’s List was shot here, and since then the neighbourhood has been redeveloped and is now once again a lively district where people go to eat and drink. Sombre and imposing, but a visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp is also a must for anyone travelling to Krakow. The former camp lies approximately 60 kilometres outside of the city. A memorial site that will leave a lasting impression.
