There are many options for getting around Norwich, as the city centre is flat and fairly compact. Many visitors opt to hire a car, as the roads are easy to follow and traffic is relatively polite; however, travellers who opt not to drive will find the city buses, operated by FirstGroup, are a convenient means of reaching local destinations like the train station, riverside entertainment district, the university, and the airport. Single tickets and day passes are available from ticket machines at the bus stops. Metered taxis are also available, but the city centre is small enough to explore on foot comfortably.
