A great view from the boulevard
The most historic building in Luanda is the Fortaleza de São Miguel, a star-shaped fort that now houses the Museu das Forças Armadas (Military Museum). Stroll by the military artefacts and admire the great views over the city. From here continue to the Marginal to parade along the waterfront. Take a moment to admire the impressive pink façade of the Banco Nacional de Angola! Also visit the Museu Nacional de Antropologia, which displays original hunting artefacts, African masks and jewellery. Luanda is not only perfect for a city trip but also makes a great starting point for a longer holiday in Angola. Expect to be surprised:

Relax on the beach
A short drive to the Mussulo peninsula will reveal a paradise close to the city. The blue water, palm trees and charming huts invite you to spend a lazy day on the beach. All rested? Then take a boat tour or dive into the clear water. Or order a cocktail at one of the beach bars. The Parque Nacional da Kissama, the most beautiful wildlife park in Angola, lies approximately 70 kilometres outside of Luanda. Go on safari and see elephants, water buffaloes and antelopes. Time your visit to the coast to see the newly hatched baby turtles take their first swim. Absolutely spectacular!
