Famous statues on the Marktplatz
Marktplatz is the symbol of the merchant town of Bremen. Admire the St Petri Dom zu Bremen and the famous statue of ‘Roland’, symbolizing freedom and justice. Another world-famous statue is that of the Bremen Town Musicians, depicting the donkey, dog, cat and rooster from the Brothers Grimm fairytale. The voices of the animals arise from the square and there is even a tomb for the donkey. Behind the statue is the beautiful Rathaus (town hall). Head into the basement to sample the best German wines. Cheers!
