Fragrant aromas at the traditional Christmas market
The Weisser Turm at the Ludwigsplatz in the old city is part of the old city wall. When you visit this tower it will be hard to overlook the famous ‘Ehekarussell’. The sculpture fountain in front of the tower is known for its controversial representation of the highs and lows of a marriage. Nuremberg is especially known for its Christkindlesmarkt, which dates back to the 16th century. Shop for Christmas presents at the charming Hauptmarkt and warm yourself with a glass of delicious glühwein (mulled wine). Nuremberg is not only perfect for a city trip but also makes a great starting point for a longer holiday in Germany. Expect to be surprised:

Bratwurst and toys
The happiest museum in Nuremberg is the Toy Museum. Your children aren’t the only ones who will have fun here. Old-fashioned toys will certainly trigger many happy memories. A visit to the Nuremberg Zoo is also much appreciated by people of all ages. The dolphin show is one of the most popular attractions. A city trip to Nuremberg isn’t complete without tasting the local delicacies. Order a Nürnberger Lebkuchen, a type of ginger biscuit, perfect with a cup of coffee. On the street try a Nürnberger Rostbratwurst sandwich. The sausages here are a bit thinner than in the rest of Germany but just as tasty! Complete the day with a German meal and a jug of beer at brewery Barfüßer. Don’t miss this place!
