Cool off in the mountains
Malaysia consists of 2 parts: the peninsula with its mountains and beaches, and tropical Borneo. Cool off on the peninsula in the Cameron Highlands, famous for its green tea plantations. Or hike through Taman Negara National Park, a great spot to look for elephants, rhinoceros and the Malaysian tiger. The park is a huge contrast with the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur with its enormous Petronas Twin Towers. Take the lift to the 41st floor of the building and see the city from the walkway that connects the 2 towers! Expect to be surprised: book a flight to Malaysia now!
Rhesus monkeys and orang-utans
Malaysian Borneo offers spectacular nature. Board a boat to look for rhesus monkeys in the jungle. These fascinating creatures display great flexibility as they leap from tree to tree. The jungle is also home to orang-utans. You may observe the animals in a rescue centre or perhaps even encounter them in the wild. Malaysia is still home to many tribal communities, including the Iban. Travel through the jungle by boat to spend a night with the Iban in a longhouse. Members of the tribe will welcome you with some home-brewed tuak rice wine.
