Lima is a large and busy metropolis, but there are still some wonderful places where you can get away from it all and relax. The city boasts a number of beautiful city parks and lovely squares. Although these are the perfect spot for a relaxing picnic, these locations have more than just peace and greenery. Lima’s parks also offer lots of entertainment, romance, art, culture and exceptional biodiversity.
Technically Lima lies in a desert. But even though the city is built in one of the driest places in the world, there is still plenty of green. This is due to the melt water that flows from the mountains and provides a natural irrigation source for all kinds of plants; even non-native plants thrive here. Additionally, in recent years the city has restored many city parks and squares in an attempt to make Lima more attractive.
