Minibus taxis (daladala) are the most common way of getting around in Arusha; although they are often cramped, and accidents and pick pockets can be a concern, they are exceptionally cheap. Taxis are also available but the fare should be agreed on before setting off, even if they are metered. It is possible to hire a car in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro Airport, however most rental companies prefer to provide drivers as well as vehicles.
