Spotlight on the Titanic

Southampton is home to numerous museums, ranging from the City Art Gallery with contemporary art to the Solent Sky Museum, which showcases the city’s aviation history. But the city’s most famous museum is without a doubt the SeaCity Museum. Here you will find a permanent exhibit on the Titanic. On 10 April 1912, the ship departed on its fatal voyage from Dock 4 in the harbour of Southampton. No other city was hit as hard by the tragedy as Southampton. More than 500 households lost a family member. The exhibit highlights the stories of the cooks, sailors, night guards and other crew members who perished that night.
