Singapore: the reverse Atlantis

The Marina Bay is also home to Singapore’s most spectacular hotel: the Marina Bay Sands. On top of 3 tapered towers rests a 150-metre-long roof. The towers exude wealth and glamour. Picture spacious 629 square metre hotel suites, a casino packed with 2300 slot machines and almost 500 gambling tables, an exclusive shopping centre that even accommodates a rowing pond, and the divine Banyan Tree spa. From jungle to desert

A large part of Marina Bay is taken up by the lush Gardens by the Bay park. The eye-catching trees in Supertree Grove feature enormous hanging gardens. An amazing 162,900 bromeliads, orchids, ferns and tropical vines cover the trees. Walk along the canopy trail and imagine you are in the jungle. Forget the bustling metropolis of Singapore as you enter the impressive greenhouses filled with many species of flowers and baobab trees.

Singaporeans love great food and with 7 fine dining spots, the Marina Bay Sands is a popular gourmet destination. Several world-famous award-winning chefs have opened restaurants in this complex. Steakhouse CUT by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck earns rave reviews. Another acclaimed eatery is Waku Ghin. This Japanese restaurant only accommodates 25 foodies who will feast on a 10-course tasting menu with dishes such as sweet prawns and caviar served in sea urchin.
