San Fran is incredibly accommodating to bicyclists, and plenty of companies offer bike hires. If you are uncomfortable riding around an unknown city, don’t worry. You can still explore on foot as the city is actually fairly small. In fact, many of the most popular tourist destinations (Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, etc.) are within walking distance of one another.

The weather varies greatly month to month and even hour to hour. The warmest months are June to October, while the colder months run from January to March. Expect to take a jumper with you at all times. Once the fog rolls in, temperatures could drop as much as 15°C (27°F) before you know it.
