Visit Liberia-Guanacaste, the 'Cowboy town' of Costa Rica.

Starting 27 October 2019, KLM will operate four flights a week between Amsterdam and Liberia Guanacaste. Want to get the most out of your trip to Costa Rica? You can also fly to San Jose and end your round-trip in Liberia Guanacaste for your return flight.

Liberia is a small town at heart and owes its nickname, ‘white city’, to the gravel used to build many of the buildings from the colonial period. The historic buildings continue to dazzle with their white walls, terracotta roofs and winding ivy. Don’t be surprised if you run into a cowboy or two, since this region is famous for its sabaneros. The cowboy culture is an actual way of life in Liberia and rodeos are a timeless tradition in Guanacaste
