Abolishment of Air Passenger Duty for youth (12 to 15 years)

Youth (12 to 15 years) travelling in the Economy class cabin are exempt of Air Passenger Duty (APD).
 
As of 15 August 2019, this exemption will automatically be reflected in the final booking fare.

However, if you book via our website and the booking includes:
  • Youth (12 to 15 years) at the time of travel, departing from an airport within the United Kingdom
  • And due to travel in Economy Class cabin on or after 1 March 2016
  • And the booking was made before 15 August 2019
Then this child is (these children are) entitled to a refund of the APD. In order to get a refund, please follow these 2 steps:
  • Enter the child’s (children’s) Advance Passenger Information (API) on our website. The API can be updated in My Trip.
  • Complete the .
Please select “refund” in the drop down menu and indicate that your request relates to an APD refund in the message box. We will proceed with the refund(s) using the original method of payment, without any administration fee.

If you paid via a credit or debit card, you will have the APD refunded automatically to your original card. If you paid via bank transfer, you can add your IBAN code or bank details directly in the refund form. We aim to complete your refund within 4 weeks of notification.

Children aged under 12 travelling in Economy and infants do not pay APD. Passengers who have booked via a travel agent need to contact their travel agent directly.
