Refund of ticket cost

If your journey did not go as planned, we apologise for the inconvenience.

Before requesting a refund

Please note: once you request a refund, all flights in your booking will be cancelled. It may take us 2-4 weeks to process your refund. The refund will be made in the same currency and by the same payment method as used to purchase your ticket.

Requesting a refund online, via below “Request a refund” button or via social media, is free of charge. You can also call the KLM Customer Contact Centre to arrange it for you, in that case a fee may be charged.

In all refund requests, the bank account holder has to be one of the passengers. If it doesn’t match, you must include a copy of your passport and a signed authorization letter (in English) to your online refund request.

If you purchased your ticket from a travel agent, you need to contact your travel agent to arrange a refund. For tickets bought from an airline other than KLM, please contact the concerning airline.

Please note: your entire booking will be cancelled

Refunds are subject to applicable regulations in the country in which the ticket was purchased and/or to applicable regulations in the country in which the refund must be paid.

If you booked a Business Class ticket but travelled in Economy Class you can apply for a refund of the fare difference. Please contact the KLM Customer Contact Centre.

In case you cancel your flight(s) for other reasons than those mentioned above and have a non-refundable ticket, you can request a refund of unused airport tax. Booking fee, reissue fee and payment surcharges will not be refunded. Carrier imposed international surcharges will not be refunded if your ticket conditions do not allow a refund.
