As of 26 May 2014, KLM will launch a new service to Bilbao in Spain. This new route will be served using an Embraer 190, seating 100 passengers in Business and Economy Class. KLM Cityhopper will operate this route five times a week.
KLM will operate this new service on a daily basis except for Tuesday and Thursday. The flight will depart from Amsterdam at 14:50hrs (KL1687) arriving at 17:00hrs on Bilbao airport. The return flight (KL1688) will leave at 17:35hrs to arrive in Amsterdam again at 19:45hrs. The new service will start on 26 May 2014 until 25 October 2014.
Starting 27 May 2014, KLM Cityhopper will operate four weekly flights between Amsterdam and Zagreb on Tuesday, Thursday and at the weekend, using a Fokker 70 aircraft seating 74 passengers in Business and Economy Class.
KLM will operate flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and at the weekend. The outbound flight will depart from Amsterdam at 14:30 hours (KL1943), arriving at 16:20 hours at Zagreb International Airport. The return flight (KL1944) will leave at 16:55 hours, arriving in Amsterdam again at 19:05 hours. The new service will start on 27 May 2014 and run until 25 October 2014.
From 2 February 2014, flights will be operated with a Boeing 777-300 (KL701 and KL702), with a stop in between in Buenos Aires three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from Amsterdam and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Santiago.
To suit its clients' needs, KLM offers 3 classes on board:
- 35 seats in World Business Class for 777-300,
- 350 seats in Economy Class and
- 40 seats in the Economy Comfort Zone that offers 10 cm extra room for passenger's legs, twice the lean back of their seats and priority disembarking.
With effect from next autumn, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be launching a new scheduled service to the Italian city of Florence, capital of the region of Tuscany and broadly regarded as the birthplace of the Renaissance. On commencement of the forthcoming winter season on 27 October 2013, KLM will operate 12 flights a week on this route using Embraer 190 equipment.
KLM will fly twice daily to Florence on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; one flight a day will be operated on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
KLM's SkyTeam partner Alitalia will operate flights on the Amsterdam-Florence route for the remainder of the summer season at a frequency of twice a day using Airbus A319 equipment.
From 3 April 2013 KLM will fly to Fukuoka in Japan. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays a Boeing 777-200 will fly from Amsterdam to the largest city on the island of Kyushu. This makes KLM the only airline to offer non-stop flights from Europe to Fukuoka. The port city is located in the southwest of Japan and is the economic hub of the Kyushu region with about 16 million inhabitants. Rich in cultural and historical sites, the destination is also interesting for tourists.
