Compensation for delay, cancellation or denied boarding
(EU compensation by EU regulation EU261/2004)

You may have a right to compensation if:

  • Your flight was delayed upon arrival for more than 3 hours, or your flight was cancelled.
  • Your flight was overbooked and you were unable to board the flight as a result.
  • You incurred unforeseen costs during your trip (in addition to the cost of your ticket and extra options), such as phone charges or lunch.

When you choose to receive a voucher, you can use it for a purchase on klm.com or airfrance.com. This voucher has a higher value than a cash compensation: an additional EUR 100 for short/medium haul flights or an additional EUR 200 for long haul flights.
