Frankfurt is also called ‘Mainhattan’, as the city is famous for being Germany’s finance centre. The Main River is an important lifeline for Frankfurt and divides the city into two. If you continue along the river banks, you’ll reach the Museumsufer which has some of the city’s best museums, such as the Städel Museum and the German film museum.
