The Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

Climbing 1332 steps

There are many different ways and angles to admire the bridge, but the most popular one is the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. Climb the 1332 steps to the top of the bridge where a 360 degree view of Sydney awaits. On the regular tour, climbers take approximately 3.5 hours to get to the top, accompanied by a guide. The Discovery Climb is a more comprehensive tour; this goes through the centre of the bridge and also ends with a superb view on top of the arches. There are a lot of fascinating facts and information about the bridge structure on this tour. Tip: this experience is even more special at sunrise or sunset.

The Pylon Lookout

Fortunately there is also a less intensive and time-consuming alternative to get the same view: the Pylon Lookout. This viewing platform in the south-east tower of the bridge can be climbed in just 200 steps. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a sublime view of the city, the port and the side of the bridge. On the way to the top, there are various exhibits on the history and the building of the structure.
